Associate Creative Director

Insomniac Design is a global digital agency headquartered in Washington D.C., with offices in London, Bucharest and Chisinau. We specialize in human-centered design with deep focus on design thinking and digital transformation.
The Associate Create Director is responsible for working closely with the Creative Director and creative team to lead creative work, and assist in internal initiatives and new business. You’ll manage and guide our work and team across multiple client projects, collaborate with project leads across our internal teams, and expertly present our work and creative rationale to clients.
Success in this role is gauged by an ability to collaboratively work with and guide a team of creatives to develop stellar design solutions to complex project challenges. You’ll inspire and elevate our level of creative execution on projects, and love to help make our team and clients happy. This role reports to the Creative Director, and is remote eligible, with preference towards candidates in the DMV area as we maintain a hybrid office structure.

Skills & Responsibilities
- Define creative solutions to meet our clients business and strategic goals.
- Integrate creative strategy, information architecture, user flows and functional requirements into dynamic and systemic interactive design solutions.
- Guide our work from concept to execution within the project’s creative scope.
- Consistency and diligence in meeting deliverables deadlines.
- Manage and delegate responsibilities to other creative team members, and provide creative feedback and direction.
- Maintain and ensure the highest standards of interactive creative design execution.
Experience
- 5-8+ years experience in creative direction across brand, interactive, and web.
- Strong background in interactive design, UX/UI, and digital art direction.
- Experience creating design systems, component libraries, and visual frameworks.
- Background in collaborating closely with strategy, account, and technical teams.
- A strong understanding of how visual design solutions translate into technical and functional requirements.
- Experience across creative tools including Adobe CS, Figma/FigJam, Sketch, Marvel, Zeplin and Miro.
- Passion for following web design trends and bringing them into our work.
- Highly skilled in leading a team of creative talent, providing feedback and direction.
