Business Analyst

The Business Analyst plays the critical role of translating the business needs of our clients and their stakeholders into actionable product requirements for functionality. They are a trusted partner to our clients and internal teams to guide the product development life cycle through all phases, from discovery to launch. The Business Analyst works at the intersection of all of Insomniac’s functional areas to ensure that products are strategically delivered to meet the user and business needs of our clients. They will bring experience, expertise, and innovative and creative thinking to the table, with a focus on exceptional quality, business value, and bulletproof product delivery to every project. This role reports to the Director of Strategy and sits on the Strategy & Accounts team while collaborating closely with members from Creative and Technology throughout project lifecycles.
  • Initiate and manage the product requirements validating, gathering, and documentation process throughout a product development lifecycle, from initial/scoped business requirements intake through technical delivery and test planning.
  • Lead with assistance from the Product Owner/Project Manager with prioritization and requirements management on new and existing/managed products.
  • Participate in technical discussions with clients, stakeholders, users, and internal Insomniac team members to analyze, discuss, and document new functionality.
  • Collaborate with designers, strategists, and developers to define and validate functionality and lead the documentation of technical and functional specifications.
  • Support lead QA in writing and reviewing test cases and selecting critical test cases to form regression test plans.
  • Assist in testing functionality and confirming the fulfillment of product requirements.
  • Assist the Project Manager in coordinating/monitoring client-side user acceptance testing.
  • Participate in new feature discovery, ideation, validation, and planning.
  • Partner with the product owner and lead developer(s) to create the product roadmap.
  • Maintain and recommend reprioritizations to the product roadmap.
  • Develop, maintain, and advocate thorough product documentation.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • 3+ years experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Product Manager;
  • Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall methodologies for digital product development;
  • Experience in creating and maintaining product roadmaps, requirements, user acceptance testing strategies, and maintenance documentation;
  • Experience using industry-standard digital development tools (i.e., Jira, Confluence, Figma);
  • Experience with Web Products built on a variety of platforms;
  • Ability to lead client, stakeholder, and user-facing discussions;
  • Knowledge of best practices in quality assurance (QA) and user acceptance testing (UAT);
  • Experience meeting critical deadlines, adapting quickly to shifting priorities, and managing multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and succinctly to internal and external stakeholders, including English skills;
  • PMP, CSPO, or other agile/scrum certifications or credentials are a plus;
  • Experience working on data portals, platforms, and CMS is a plus;
