The Director of Strategy & Accounts is responsible for the growth and management of the Accounts & Strategy team. This role requires a mastery of Account and Project Management as well as the practice areas of enterprise web and digital product production — with a sharp understanding of how client, team, and business priorities interact. This role serves as the team lead and voice to the Executive Team, and is a lead source of knowledge, guidance and inspiration for projects and the team.

This person is responsible for planning and maintaining processes and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of the Accounts & Strategy team, and the resources they manage across the company. The person in this leadership role is expected to maintain a strong understanding and connection to all levels of company employees, ensuring each team member is individually set up for success and growth in their role at Insomniac Design. People management responsibilities include but are not limited to coaching and mentoring, professional development, problem solving, evaluation, and performance management.

Skills & Responsibilities
  • Accounts & Strategy — Oversee regular management and successful delivery across accounts, including a direct role on some of Insomniac’s largest and most important contracts.
  • Team Management — Team leader and advisor, oversee people, tools and workflow.
  • Leadership — Serves on Insomniac Design Leadership Team.
  • New Business — Support new proposals and pitches, including concepts and team resourcing.
Experience
  • 10-15 years experience in Web & Digital production management.
  • Background expertise in web product and agile methodologies, including sprint planning and implementation. Ability to excellently and smoothly deliver custom and complex client web & digital work.
  • Experience implementing web management tools and platforms like Jira, Figma, Sketch, InVision, Drupal, WordPress, and related digital products.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team, and act as a bridge to executive management, with past experience directly managing a small team of project managers and their career paths.
  • Agency background or experience growing and leading a product team is a strong plus.
