The Lead UX Researcher & Analyst is responsible for defining, guiding and implementing the research, measurement, reporting and analytics activities across our key client projects within an agency environment. This role combines the science of defining research methodologies with the art of uncovering patterns and insights to inform a project’s strategic approach. This person is someone who can bring a strong point of view, backed by evidence, to represent the voice of the user to internal and client teams. You will work in collaboration with Insomniac Design’s Strategy and Creative teams to synthesize findings and recommendations that will define a project roadmap.

Responsibilities:
 
      Design research methodologies that will generate accurate findings (e.g. databases, surveys, qualitative/quantitative, etc.)
      Establish strong hypotheses to guide areas of research and investigation
      Define measurable objectives to gauge UX research success
      Define appropriate inclusion/exclusion criteria and convert them into recruitment screeners for audience selection
      Define, assess, and optimize recruitment methods to ensure quality data collection
      Facilitate and/or moderate research sessions
      Perform outreach, recruitment, and follow-up communications with research respondents
      Plan and conduct user testing of various deliverables and artifacts with targeted user groups throughout the design and development phases
      Extrapolate audience findings that will inform personas and customer journey maps
      Identify trends and insights, with the ability to translate those insights into strong recommendations
      Oversee the day-to-day project work of junior- and mid-level teammates in order to guide the success of a project
      Distill and understand feedback from both internal and external stakeholders
      Periodically contribute to scoping and proposal efforts

Skills & Experience:
 
      5-7+ years experience in UX design research
      Bachelor’s degree, with an emphasis on UX, design research, psychology, social science or another relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience
      Great communication and collaboration skills
      Deep understanding of qualitative and quantitative research best practices in a product design environment across all Design Thinking stages
      Experience with research tools (e.g UserZoom, UserTesting.com, Qualtrics, Optimal Workshop products)
      Experience with agile methodology is a plus
