PHP Database Developer

As a PHP Database Developer you will focus on the analysis, design and development for a suite of web based platforms and reporting tools. You will work closely with the development and operations teams do build and iterate our next generation of data focused tools and reporting portal platforms across a variety of clients. You will be challenged working on a variety of complex data feeds and integrations. Candidates should have interest and experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
Skills & Responsibilities
- Develop data exchanges, large-scale data handling and API integrations.
- Daily management of data, data exchanges as well as reporting portals and tools.
- Develop new features for existing solutions using PHP and MySQL.
- Implement and support new and existing applications using various tools and technologies.
- Recommend code and design optimizations for scalability and maximizing performance.
- Strong hands on skills with MySQL, MSSQL and other DB.
- Experience with report generation.
- Knowledge and experience ETL and other file exchange protocols.
- Experience building and consuming APIs.
- Architect and build custom web data portals.
- Has a high level of expertise with technologies including PHP, Content Management Systems (Drupal 7 and Drupal 8), Laravel, Node, and/or Angular.
- Innovation in deliverables – show a strong desire and passion to implement new technologies to make the next project better than the last. We can always do better.
- Work directly with creative director, designers, project managers, and user experience leads on assigned projects.
Experience
- Candidates for this position must have previous experience developing large complex enterprise web applications that include custom API connections and PHP processing scripts.
- 2+ years experience in Object Oriented Design & Development.
- 3+ years experience with REST API integrations and mastery of working with MySQL databases.
- Experience with implementing and configuring SOLR search.
- Proficiency coding in PHP and consistently developing clean, semantic, valid markup.
- Some past experience developing application with the Elasticsearch would be a big plus.
- Ability to analyze requirements and follow detailed technical / functional specifications.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and hit deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Demonstrates good judgment, excellent planning, problem-solving, troubleshooting, management, and communication (verbal and written) skills with the ability to think strategically, act quickly, multi-task, and work collaboratively in an environment that values creativity and flexibility to make things happen.
